.The Indian Confederation
of Medical Laboratory Science (ICMLS) has been a long-standing advocate
for the grant of special and risk-related allowances to Medical
Laboratory Professionals, recognizing the vital and hazardous nature of their
work. Medical Laboratory Professionals are continuously exposed to infectious
agents, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials, often working under
stressful conditions and irregular hours to ensure accurate and timely
diagnostic support for patient care. Despite their crucial role, this category
of healthcare professionals has historically been excluded or
undercompensated in terms of allowances and risk benefits compared to
other healthcare cadres.
Through sustained
representation, research-based advocacy, and policy engagement, ICMLS continues
to champion the cause of fair compensation and welfare benefits for all
categories of laboratory professionals in both public and private sectors.
